December 2023:
Dec. 24The rich blessing & love of YaHUaH be with you, this Christmas and thoughout 2024 !
October 2023:
Oct. 16Always wondered about the relationship between the Hebrew word יָוָן - yavan or yawan and the Greeks (a.o. in Dan.10:20; Zach.9:13; Eze.27:13)? Maybe we should ignore the Masoretes a little, accept that Hebrew did use certain letters as vowels after all, and regard the yod here as i and the wav as o: ion - the Ionians (Greek: Ἴωνες, Íōnes, singular Ἴων, Íōn). Perhaps we should than call the son of Japhet in Gen.10:2 - possibly their forefather? - Ion too, instead of Javan?

June 23A new reaction to The Shema‘ – the First Testament declaration of faith (1)
June 18Two days ago, at Khirbet Qeiyafa in the Valley of Elah, Israel, an inscription was revealed from the time of King David. See the news articles at the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the Israel Antiquities Authority, or at LiveScience, with photo’s. The inscription is a fine example from the time of transition when the old West- Semitic (aka Canaanite or Sinaitic) script with pictographic features from the time of the patriarchs developed into the Paleo-Hebrew alphabet script used at the time of the Israelite kings.
June 13Two articles received new reactions:
- The Palm Tree in the Bible (2) Full of Rich Symbolism; and:
- The Torah (1) A series of laws and commandments?

March 2015:
Mar. 29They are approaching rapidly now: the feasts of Pesach and Unleavened Bread. Read more about these in the articles:

The עמר ghomer or ‘omer – measure of the abundance that God gives’.
February 2015:   (I am catching up on translating materials published in Dutch in 2014)
Feb. 19Research at Stanford Graduate School of Business, part of Stanford University, in cooperation with the University of Minnesota, confirms the great value for our daily life of what I wrote in Sept. 2012 in:
ah: figure with raised hands and bent knees - Aah!, or: Wow! – The essential art to wonder and rejoice
In their article ‘Awe Expands People’s Perception of Time, Alters Decision Making, and Enhances Well-Being’ (Psychological Science 23, Oct. 2012; p.1130-36), Melanie Rudd, Kathleen D. Vohs and Jennifer Aaker explain that. Awe – the “Aah!” experience – even has a stronger positive effect than that of happiness.
Feb. 18A follow-up on an old series: The Shema‘ – the First Testament declaration of faith (6)
Feb. 16Cultivating Life – Does the Christian life revolve around choosing between good and evil?
Feb. 13We Want to Know – The urge to have control over everything versus child-like trust in a good God
January 2015:
Jan. 21At YouTube there is a noteworthy talk that Christine Darg had with the Karaite Jew Nehemia Gordon about Shattering the Conspiracy of Silence, which is also the title of a recent book by Nehemia Gordon. In both, he deals with the rabbinic prohibition on speaking the glorious Name of God and the devastating effect it had on Jewish history. (Note that Nehemia and I differ in view on what the original pronunciation of the glorious Name was; Nehemia gives a good reasoning on what the pronunciation was at the time of the Masoretes.)
Jan. 2God bless you richly in this new year 2015!

December 2014:
Dec. 13The big document on the glorious Name of God gave reason for an additional Appendix: This study of the glorious Name of God provides a powerful invalidation of the Documentary- or Sources-hypothesis .pdf document. The Torah has just been written by Moses! Various ways in which God was addressed or mentioned reflect differences in the experienced relationship with Him. And other traces of a latere date can be explained sufficiently by the redaction of the text at the time of ‘Ezra’ (or briefly after that), when the text was transferred from Paleo-Hebrew into the Aramaic script and some redactional notes were added.
Dec. 2New updated edition of the extensive Accede! / Hallelu-YaH study:

Sept. 24Last year I wrote already about it, and tonight it’s again time to rejoice: The Feast of Trumpets - Zikhron Teru‘ah – A very special day!
Sept. 11This Summer my research on the old Biblical script has been quite fruitful. As a result, I can present again a new, considerably stretched update of the living research document: ‘The Written Language of Abraham, Moses and David – A study of the pictographic roots and basic notions in the underlying fabric of the earliest Biblical script.pdf document; (with some modifications reflecting improved insights, a different presentation of the letters, and many additional examples of words and names; 112 pages).
July 2014:
July 30Two articles added to the old series on The Palm Tree in the Bible: ‘Part (6) - Pole and Palisade’ (written already long ago in Dutch, now translated) and ‘Part (7) - More on the word Tamar and a very young Palm Tree’ (‘fresh’)
July 17The רוּחַ הַקֹּדֶש - the Ruach ha-Qodesh – The Holy Spirit - God Himself
June 2014:
June 10Again a new update is available of the living research document: ‘The Written Language of Abraham, Moses and David – A study of the pictographic roots and basic notions in the underlying fabric of the earliest Biblical script.pdf document; (with some minor modifications reflecting improved insights, an additional section in the introduction on early word formation, and additional examples of words, names and references; 93 pages).
April 2014:
Apr. 22The עמרghomer or ‘omer – measure of the abundance that God gives
Apr. 19Matsot (2) – Fleeing all that alienated us from God, in order to receive His new Life
Apr. 16Matsot – Fast, nourishing food for a long journey on foot
January 2014:
Jan. 25Additional study again led to an update of the living research document: ‘The Written Language of Abraham, Moses and David – A study of the pictographic roots and basic notions in the underlying fabric of the earliest Biblical script.pdf document; (with an extended inventory of old letter shapes, and still more examples of words and names; 90 pages).

December 2013:
Dec. 31A good end of the year and God’s rich blessings in 2014!
Dec. 27Due to illness and family circumstances – a.o. my mother (89) getting sick and passing away in November – few new posts have appeared here during the Fall of 2013. In the Spring of 2014 I hope to increase the frequency again. Here is an article that I wrote earlier this year already in Dutch, translated now into English:
THE Masoretic Text does not exist – Some facts about the original Hebrew text of the First Testament
October 2013:
Oct. 5Additional study led to an extended edition of the research document:

May 2013:
May 8From the news at large:
Hyksos buildings are the latest ancient discovery in Tel Habuwa

In Egypt, archeological digs have unearthed a great many grain silos ... that could store more than 280 tons of grain from the time of the Biblical Joseph, as well as remains of military campaigns by a king Ahmose (or prince Mosheh?), about 1550-1525 BC.
I am fascinated how archeology keeps on affirming the trustworthiness of the Bible! (In the comparison, note that the old Semitic / Hebrew script puts the ah: figure with raised hands and bent knees; awe, worship, joy (áh) sign of joyful reverence at the end of the name of mu: water, abundanceshad: breasts, well/source, bulging, coming forwardah: figure with raised hands and bent knees - Moshah / משׁה - Mosheh, Egyptologists studying the Egyptian sources put the same sound and notion at the beginning: Ahmose. And, by the way, on those Hyksos, I once discovered some remarkable peculiarities as well.)

April 2013:
Apr. 6,7New extended edition of the research document:
The Written Language of Abraham, Moses and David – A study of the pictographic roots and basic notions in the underlying fabric of the earliest Biblical script.pdf document; with more background, and more examples, checked with more old M.E. language examples (esp. Akkadian, Sumerian, Proto-Semitic), identification of the ghayin variant of the ‘ayin (mainly from Arabic roots), and more attention for the phonology (82 pages).
March 2013:
Mar. 19New updated release of the research document:
The Written Language of Abraham, Moses and David – A study of the pictographic roots and basic notions in the underlying fabric of the earliest Biblical script.pdf document; revised, with more background, and more examples, checked with more old M.E. languages (a.o. Akkadian, Sumerian) (74 pages).
